Daily Find – Shadows by Bob Thiele Mysterious Flying Orchestra – Funky Jazz Lp

Daily Discovery - Shadows by Bob Thiele Mysterious Flying Orchestra - Funky Jazz Lp on RCA #2137.

Side One songs - Improvisational Rondo For Saxaphone And Guitar - Shadows - A Dream Deferred
Side Two songs - Summer Days - There Once Was A Man Named John - Nice 'N Spicy

As soon as the needle hit this record I knew that this had to be sampled. Turns out the genius rapper, the late Guru and his team had already done so in 2003 on his song "Skills". Lonnie Liston Smith and many other artists were a part of this musical masterpiece and it was arranged by a man who seems to appear on a lot of songs I really enjoy, Horace Ott. The type of Lp that I can listen to in a sitting from start to finish.

Daily Find – Coffee Break by Sue Allen – 50′s R&B

Daily Discovery - Coffee Break by Sue Allen - 50's R&B on Key Records #504. The flip side is "I've Never Been To St. Louie (But I've Got The Blues)". The song starts out from point of view of everybody's doing it. Then comes in a killer uptempo sax break or the caffeine high that will give you the pep in your step. Right when you start to crash it's time for another cup. What are you waiting for? Isn't it time for your java break?
