Daily Find – Penny Nickel Dime Quarter by Bob Crewe – Teen Rocker 45

Daily Discovery - Penny Nickel Dime Quarter (On A Teenage Date) b/w How Long by Bob Crewe - Teen Rocker 45 on Spotlight Records #393
Orchestra directed by Johnny Byrd

I read somewhere that this tune was released in 1956. If that's true, this teen rocker was released before he produced the nationwide Doowop hit "Silhouettes" by the Rays, which was released in 1957. I'm not sure if this was Bob's first release but this swingin' little tune definitely has a "hit" feel to me. Listening to "Penny" leaves me without any doubt why he would soon be on his way to have major influence in Rock & Roll history with records that are still being played on commercial radio today. Enjoy!

Daily Find – So What If I Can’t Cook by Little Alice – R&B Soul

Daily Discovery - So What If I Can't Cook by Little Alice. R&B Soul answer song to Lonnie Russ' "My Wife Can't Cook". My food always seems to be so bland so I can feel her pain. Answer songs seem to have gone away from music recently, I have always enjoyed the creativity that the answer song brings. This is not as famous as some other answer songs like Smokey Robinson & Miracles "Got A Job" was the answer to the Silhouettes "Get A Job" but it's still fun. Funny lyrics on this Los Angeles answer record.
