Daily Find – Bip Bop Bip by Pretty Boy (aka Don Covay)- R&B Rocker 45

Daily Discovery - Bip Bop Bip b/w Paper Dollar by Pretty Boy - R&B Rockabilly 45 on Atlantic Records #1147

R&B Rockabilly, Yes! You read it right! This is Don Covay under the alias, Pretty Boy. This late 50's tune shows what happens when the power of Rock n' Roll meets the grit of Rhythm & Blues. "Bip Bop Bip" may not sound like a great title but when the music and vocals come together, you quickly change your mind.

Daily Find – Hot Rod Henry by Lola Dee w/ Carl Stevens – R&R 45

Daily Discovery - Hot Rod Henry b/w Born To Be With You by Lola Dee w/ Carl Stevens - R&R 45 on Mercury Records #70870

This is a 1956 R&R tune that has a 1940's swing feel. I had to share this song today because it's a perfect day for cruising. Duets with a female and male going back and forth hold a special place in my heart and this one is no exception. What man doesn't like a woman who knows about cars? Every car mans dream woman. Enjoy this charming little tune.

Daily Find – The Ho-Ho Rock And Roll by Sid Ramin & The Ho-Ho’s – Psychedelic R&R 45

Daily Discovery - The Ho-Ho Rock And Roll by Sid Ramin & The Ho-Ho's - Psychedelic R&R 45 on Thunderbird Records #516. The Ho-Ho's are credited to Peter Roberts. Is this the first dj loop ever? The laugh is definitely on a loop, anyone know when loops were first used? The title suggests a Christmas record. Where did this way out 60's psychedelic reverb, 50's rocker come from? and how did these two genres merge? My question won't make sense unless you listen to this odd record's last ho-ho filled groove. One of the weirdest records i have ever heard, and I LOVE IT!
