Daily Find – Cool It Baby by B.B. Carter – Northern Soul 45
Daily Find - Cool It Baby b/w My Lover by B.B. Carter - Northern Soul 45 on Kris Records #107
Drums, horns, bass along with an amazing girl group on back up vocals. The star of the record is B.B. Carter. She takes charge with strong lead vocals, she's obviously a strong woman who lets it be known that she wants to be set free relationship that no longer works for her. This is one of my favorite Los Angeles, Northern Soul tunes, and doesn't seem to be very well known. A very underrated dancer in my opinion. What do you think?
A Mel Alexander label and production.
Daily Find – Stranger At My Door by Fuller Bros. on GD&L
Daily Discovery - Stranger At My Door by Fuller Bros. on GD&L. Mid-Tempo Northern Soul monster. Sit back and enjoy! Amazing vocal harmony, horns, bass line and vibes. How else can I end except by saying, WOW!
Daily Find – Elijah Rockin’ With Soul by Hank Jacobs on Call Me #5385
Daily Discovery - Elijah Rockin' With Soul by Hank Jacobs. Killer Northern Soul Instrumental. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. The piano, sax and bass swing and come together to make it a Soul dj's dream because it packs the dance floor as soon as the first note hits. This record was so sought after that someone made a bootleg of it in the 70's but as a collector of course the prize is to have an original copy. Great Los Angeles soul from the Call Me label.I recently heard that instrumental music is the highest form of abstract creativity. I love it because it is open for interpretation. What it means to me may not be what it means to you and vice versa. This record was written by Bettye Swann who's hit song "Make Me Yours" was #21 in US and #1 in the R&B charts in 1967.
