Daily Find – Life Of A Fool by Judy Eggers – Group Soul 45

Daily Discovery - Life Of A Fool b/w Summer Boys by Judy Eggers - Group Soul 45 on Metromaster Records #166

When you think of Knoxville Tennessee, a Group Soul haven isn't the first thing or place that comes to my mind. Yet this killer Group Soul mid tempo tune came from just that place. Wow! I've listened to this one a few times now and I really dig the vibe that Judy and her group (whoever they are) are putting out there. This record was released in 1967. If you know anything about this one, please let me know.

Daily Find – Elijah Rockin’ With Soul by Hank Jacobs on Call Me #5385

Daily Discovery - Elijah Rockin' With Soul by Hank Jacobs. Killer Northern Soul Instrumental. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. The piano, sax and bass swing and come together to make it a Soul dj's dream because it packs the dance floor as soon as the first note hits. This record was so sought after that someone made a bootleg of it in the 70's but as a collector of course the prize is to have an original copy. Great Los Angeles soul from the Call Me label.I recently heard that instrumental music is the highest form of abstract creativity. I love it because it is open for interpretation. What it means to me may not be what it means to you and vice versa. This record was written by Bettye Swann who's hit song "Make Me Yours" was #21 in US and #1 in the R&B charts in 1967.
